Description (Service) 42-hectare sugar maple forest and open meadow * site of annual Maple Syrup Festival  
In mid-March visit the annual Maple Syrup Festival at Purple Woods * see how maple syrup was made over 400 years ago to today's methods * tickets for the Festival must be purchased online in advance * enjoy pancakes in Heritage Hall, historical displays, horse-drawn wagon ride and more * visit www.cloca.com/msf/ for more details 
Short trails through mature sugar maple forest * access to the Oak Ridges Trail from Purple Woods * enjoy the 900 metre Discovery Trial (accessible) that runs from behind Heritage Hall * in spring and summer, it is possible to see or hear some of the more common forest birds in the canopy of this mature deciduous forest 
Heritage Hall 
The Purple Woods Heritage Hall, is an initiative to create a natural areas meeting place to embrace the environment in a location accessible to the surrounding community * purchased by Central Lake Ontario Conservation between 1975 and 1977, this 41 acre site is home to a large 150 year-old sugar maple beech hardwood forest * during the month of March the Central Lake Ontario Conservation host annual Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival 
RATES (Available May to end of October) 
$750/day - Monday to Friday (HST included) 
$1,000/day - Saturday, Sunday (HST included) 
Heritage Hall is built from recycled wood to echo the spirit of an historical Ontario barn and celebrate our rural roots * building is intended to broaden education and community programming opportunities for urban and rural clients * events must have an environmental, recreational or outdoor appreciation purpose

Please note Heritage Hall is not zoned for social events like weddings, showers, anniversaries or graduations 
Pet Policy 
Pets are permitted within Purple Woods Conservation Area * please clean up after your pet, and keep them on a leash (maximum 2 m long) at all times * Please note that dogs are not permitted at Purple Woods Conservation Area during the Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival (mid-March) * pet owners violating these regulations will be fined
