EligibilityOntario residents with large prescription drug expenses in relation to their income who are not eligible for other Ontario Drug Benefit programs * must be eligible for Ontario Health Insurance

DescriptionFinancial assistance covering only those drug and nutrtion products, blood-glucose testing agents and Facilitated Access List HIV/AIDS drugs listed in the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary/Comparative Drug Index (Formulary) * drug products that are not listed on the Formulary may be considered for coverage on a case-by-case basis through the ministry's Exceptional Access Program  
 
Program begins on August 1st of each year and ends on July 31st of following year * clients are responsible for paying a deductible that is based on total net household income and family size * deductible is payable in quarterly installments * quarterly deductible is paid when recipient pays for eligible drug costs at the pharmacy * when quarterly decuctible level is reached, recipients are responsible for paying up to $2 towards each eligible prescription * program may be of help to those who can not obtain private plans or have exhausted their benefits
