EligibilityMost Canadian residents need an Ontario issued Outdoors Card and fishing licence tag to fish in Ontario if they are at least 18 years old but have not reached their 65th birthday
ApplicationServiceOntario office and online renewals * three year renewal is also available through an online or by mail directly to the Ministry of Natural Resources

DescriptionWallet sized identification card to which the Ontario fishing licence tag is affixed * acts as a durable carrier for a licence tag for three calendar years  
 
Fishing licence tag must be affixed to the back of the plastic Outdoors Card OR be in possession of a temporary paper licence 
 
Fishing laws limit the number of fish an angler may catch or possess for conservation reasons * the number depends on the type of licence the angler holds, the fish species, where the fish is caught and, in some cases, the size of the fish 
 
One and Three Year Resident Sport Fishing Licence Tag 
is for anglers who wish to have full catch and possession fishing privileges 
 
One and Three Year Resident Conservation Fishing Licence Tag for the angler who wishes to live release a majority of the fish caught * in the case of certain species, all of the fish caught 
 
One Day Fishing Licence, the choice of someone going for a day excursion on a charter boat 
 
Ontario Outdoors Card and Fishing Licences and Sport Fishing licences can be purchased from the following certified licence issuers
