The Social Media Coordinator(s) will support the preparation and development of marketing material and projects * may provide market research, strategy, and creative assistance where applicable * general direction from the Marketing and Advertising Chair, they may do the following:
Role 1 (A more Creative Role) – 2 roles available: updating the marketing aspects of our Web Page * create and update marketing materials such social media postings on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter * develop and design innovative and engaging social media content * develop and maintain a social media calendar
Role 2 (A more Technical Role) – 1 Role available: conduct market research * track all marketing initiatives and create weekly/monthly reports with Google Studio, Analytics, social media reporting * determine target markets and their various characteristics and needs * update marketing metric reports from MailChimp and salesforce * investigate and keep us up to date with what the competition is doing
Durham Alliance Outreach
Grant writer * develop and write grant proposals and make funding applications to foundations and other grant-making organizations * organize and submit grant requests, establish and maintain foundation contacts * maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines * research grants/funding opportunities * make donation requests to banks, social clubs and organizations
FOOTPRINTS 4 Autism
Currently meeetings are held via Zoom
Join the FOOTPRINTS Steering Committee * the steering committee meets once per month for 2 hours at either Dunbarton-Fairport United Church in Pickering or St. Mark’s United Church in Whitby (meetings are currently on Zoom due to COVID19) * depending on responsibilities assigned, members should expect 1-3 hours of preparation and/or sub-committee meetings * participate in awareness events as needed to represent the organization
Seeking candidates who are excellent communicators and forward strategic thinkers that enjoy collaborative teamwork * and have experience/skill sets in the following categories: knowledge of the Autism community and/or lived experience, Human Resources, Finance, Legal and or Fund Development
Nanny Angel Network
Provide free, specialized in-home relief childcare support for mothers with cancer, for those requiring palliative care and for families requiring additional relief during the bereavement period * lessen the impact of cancer on families by engaging children in enjoyable, age-appropriate activities to help reduce any stress or anxiety they may be experiencing due to their mom’s illness or death * weekly visits, building trust, and having fun, Nanny Angels help mothers gain the confidence and peace of mind to rest or attend appointments, knowing their children are cared for and supported by knowledgeable and compassionate volunteers
Provide fun, educational, creative, and safe experiences for the children * four hours of childcare service per week to the same family with a minimum of six-month commitment.
Volunteers are matched with families based on compatibility and location within the Greater Toronto Area boundaries * kindly note, the role is not that of a babysitter, housekeeper, or personal assistant – a Nanny Angel’s primary focus is engaging and supporting the children.
COVID-19 considerations: Personal Protective equipment, sanitizer and sanitizing wipes provided. All volunteers are required to wear a mask at all times, observe social distancing and go through a screening questionnaire prior to their volunteering shift. Alzheimer Society of Durham Region
MINT Memory Clinic Scarborough Site
Provide translation support for MINT Memory Clinics (Scarborough site) and supports the inter-professional team of the Alzheimer Society Durham Region (ASDR) * provides translation in Korean of memory assessments administered by the inter-professional MINT Memory Clinic Team * provides translation to patient and family care partners in Korean * assist with follow up check in calls * other tasks as required
Students for Herd Immunity
Student ambassadors will attend a 5-week, 1-hour/week training session led by a workshop facilitator that will cover topics from the basics of the COVID-19 vaccines, the importance of vaccination, how to make compelling presentations, how to seek feedback from their audience, and the necessity of increasing health literacy by bridging social, cultural, and linguistic gaps * student ambassadors will share their learnings with a community to which they belong (e.g. school, church, volunteer organization) * participate in a debrief session with their training cohort in which they will reflect on their experiences in the program and talk through the importance of health literacy and health advocacy.

Help bring a brand-new event to Durham region- Quest4CF: a Halloween inspired, socially distanced scavenger hunt where families will "quest" around their local community solving clues, riddles and tasks on their search for treasure * assist with: logistics, sponsorship, event promotion and fundraising support * attend virtual planning meetings
