Ajax Soccer Club is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Financial Auditor to review and assess our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency. The Financial Auditor will be responsible for evaluating financial records, verifying transactions, and helping to establish strong financial practices to support the club's ongoing success and community programs.
This role is crucial to ensuring that the club remains fiscally responsible and maintains the trust of our members, sponsors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform an independent review of the club’s financial statements, bank accounts, receipts, disbursements, and supporting documentation.

Assess and verify financial reporting processes for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to relevant policies and regulations.

Evaluate internal controls, identify any risks, and provide recommendations for improvements.

Ensure compliance with applicable nonprofit and/or community sports organization financial standards.

Conduct spot audits or reviews of specific transactions, events, sponsorships, or fundraising activities as needed.

Prepare a concise Audit Report summarizing findings and recommendations to be presented to the Executive Board and Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Collaborate with the Treasurer and Board of Directors as necessary to gather information or clarify financial processes.

Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.

The Legal Counsel will assist in ensuring that the club’s activities, policies, contracts, and governance comply with applicable laws and best practices, helping to protect the club, its volunteers, and its members.
This role is critical to safeguarding the club’s integrity and supporting its mission to provide a positive, organized soccer experience for the community.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice and support to the Board of Directors, Executive team, and staff on various matters, including contracts, waivers, player/parent issues, and disciplinary actions.

Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements (e.g., vendor contracts, sponsorship agreements, facility leases, employment/volunteer agreements).

Assist with the development and updating of club policies, bylaws, and codes of conduct to ensure legal compliance and organizational best practices.

Advise on risk management issues, including insurance coverage, player safety policies, and incident response.

Represent or advise the club in the event of disputes, disciplinary hearings, or legal claims.

Stay informed about changes to laws and regulations affecting nonprofit organizations and youth sports clubs.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth sports, social media savvy, and have strong skills in event planning and community engagement.
This role plays a key part in connecting the club to the broader community, enhancing member experiences, and supporting club growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications:

Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote soccer programs, tournaments, and club initiatives.

Design promotional materials such as flyers, newsletters, and digital content.

Write and distribute press releases and club announcements.
Social Media Management:

Manage the club’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).

Create, schedule, and post engaging content that highlights players, teams, events, and important club updates.

Monitor engagement and respond to messages and comments promptly.

Track and report on social media analytics to measure success and suggest improvements.
Event Planning & Coordination:

Plan and organize club events such as the season kickoff, tournaments, awards ceremonies, fundraisers, and community outreach events.

The Board of Directors oversee Community Care Durham’s affairs within the framework of applicable laws and standards as they relate to Mission, Vision and Values, Leadership and Succession Planning, Risk and Quality Assurance and Community Connections.
The Board of Directors has the responsibility and authority to approve strategic planning and directives; budgets and purchases; CEO goals, performance management and compensation as well as the evaluation of their own performance, roles and responsibilities.

Committee members take ownership of fundraising and contribute significantly to TCEP corporate sponsorship, personal giving, fundraising events and other campaigns. They leverage personal or professional networks, practice event planning skills, and help get people excited about healthy wholesome food! The committee convenes once every 4 to 6 weeks, and members are expected to attend at least 75% of those meetings.

The Board of Directors represents the leaders of our agency and serves as a working board that oversees the long term strategic vision and overall health of the organization. Directors approve the organization’s philosophy and continually review the management’s performance while working toward agency goals. The Board of Directors will also annually review and approve plans for funding in view of organizational goals. Over 100 municipalities in Ontario have declared intimate partner violence an epidemic. We hope that this sends a loud message to women silently suffering that they are acknowledged and heard, and that the community is working to build and improve resources so that they can improve their lives. These declarations are important, but we must continue to speak out for appropriate resources and laws that will protect women, so our work is not finished.
We are a not for profit registered charity organization. Directors participate in monthly meetings including administrative duties, fundraising initiatives, public events and approval of successful crime stoppers tips.
Poppy Campaign, decoration committee, Colour Party (walking, holding flags and attending multiple events), meat rolls, fundraiser support, and working in the kitchen
Providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that will meet the quality expectations of the community.
- Collaborate in teams and or with other staff members and volunteers.
- Organizing details such as decorating, setting up and cleaning up after the event, decorating, seating participants during an event, providing directions and setting tables.
- Brainstorm ideas to support the event planning process.
- Ability to carry out tasks with limited supervision.
- Provide raffle tickets to the participants who attend the events.
As a board member, you will be required to:
- Be an advocate for the organization.
- Attend quarterly board meetings – please note that currently most of the meetings are held online and when in person, they are held in the Oshawa area.
- Actively serve on at least one Board committee and support committee initiatives.
- Attend and support fundraising and project initiatives when possible.
We are particularly interested in board members with the following:
- Experience in finance and accounting; a licensed Chartered Public Accountant is an asset.
- Expertise and experience in Human Resources.
- Legal expertise, particularly in non-profit law.
- Fundraising experience and expertise.
- Lived experience that aligns with our mission, i.e., cultural education, community empowerment, and social justice.
- Any experience or expertise in DEIA is considered an asset.
