Virtual Homework Volunteer * For two hours a week, you will support children to overcome any learning obstacles they may be facing in the classroom and help them build problem-solving skills.
Virtual Activity Volunteer * For two hours a week you will virtually engage with children using our Fun-in-a-Box program, a monthly activity box delivered to their door with four weekly activities. This program allows children to build a new friendship with you while you help them explore healthy ways to process, understand and express how they feel about their parents’ cancer.
JA Central Ontario is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support students through JA learning experiences* JA engages volunteers from the local business communities to add value to the student experience by sharing industry insights and expertise* Using our highly interactive education programs you will aid students in developing necessary business and life skills, to enter tomorrows’ workforce* Acting as a resource, facilitator, motivator, and role model you will facilitate a JA learning experience in the classroom for a half a full day.

Facilitate Game On,program for young men 12 to 14 * promote Literacy program, self-esteem and sports activities * provide guidance, attention, praise and advice * promote importance of staying in school and healthy relationships with family and peers
One-on-one mentor to child aged 6-16 * meet, plan weekly outing * provide guidance, attention, praise and advice * promote importance of staying in school and healthy relationships with family and peers
Assist students in grades 2-3 improve French reading and comprehension skills * offer updates to library staff on progress of children * occasional interaction with parents * work with library staff to develop program to ensure the needs of enrolled children are being met
Assist students in grade 1-3 improve reading skills * listen to child read, help with sounds or pronunciation if needed * reinforce reading for enjoyment
