Office Heroes provide support to the administrative team. They are the face of our organization as a greeter a tteh front desk, answering phones and attending to emails. Office heroes provide a variety of administrative duties and general office tasks as needed to support all departments.
Duties include;
Greeting and directing visitors, triageing inquiries.
Clerical Tasks; answering phones, attending to emails, making calls, sending emails and TEAMS messages,and using intake forms.
Assist with collection of donations and gifts in kind.
Procurement of office supplies, janitorial supplies, and kitchen supplies.
Maintain front lobby, sign in book, sanitizing and light disinfecting throughout the office, tidying the kitchen.
Set up rooms with beverages for group sessions, offering clients beverages while awaiitng service.
Other duties as assigned.
The Virtual Dementia Tour Guide works in collaboration with the Public Education Team to deliver simulated experiences for clients and the general public on what it may feel like to live with dementia.
Duties include;
Set up of experience room, welcome registrants, ensure consent forms are completed, provide equipmentobserve in experience room.
Report volunteer hours, follow incident report protocol when needed, repect and adhere to the policies and procedures/privacy and confidentiality of the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.
Time commitment is 3-4 hours per shift.
Must possess or obtain a current Vulnerable Sector Check.
Must experince the tour as a particiapant before volunteering.
The Minds in Motion Program is a community based program that provides both physical and mental stimulation for persons living with early to mid stage dementia who are accompanied by their carepartners.The focus is on improving physical and cognitive functioning while reducing feelings of isolation through social engagement programming. Volunteers assist with a 60 minute exercise program and co-facilitate a 60 minute mentally/socially stimulating activity.
