• Creating and distributing marketing copy to advertise our projects
• Writing blog posts about our inititatives and events 
• Ultimately, you will help us reach our target audience by delivering both useful and appealing online information regarding our events, workshops and programs.
• Identify community needs and recomend new topics

JA Central Ontario is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support students through JA learning experiences* JA engages volunteers from the local business communities to add value to the student experience by sharing industry insights and expertise* Using our highly interactive education programs you will aid students in developing necessary business and life skills, to enter tomorrows’ workforce* Acting as a resource, facilitator, motivator, and role model you will facilitate a JA learning experience in the classroom for a half a full day.

We are looking for volunteers ages 15 - 30 to engage them in volunteer placements. There are ongoing programs like Digital Marketing and Advertising, Community Events to provide support, Technology program for Seniors, Food Pantry Program, Administration work. Talent and Skills Development workshops are provided along with training sessions to gain experience. 

Helping to keep the gardens at BGC Durham's Eastview location at 433 Eulalie Ave., Oshawa looking their best. It would be preferable if the group/person was available for a couple of hours one or 2 days a week from May to October. Duties will include watering, weeding, planting, and other general gardening.

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is looking for volunteers in the Durham region, to help with our donation dog program. You would be responsible for placing new donations dogs in businesses, making the collections and deposits, sending reports, and generally ensuring the donation dogs are kept tidy. This position is great for retirees and those looking to volunteer a few hours a month, with a flexible schedule. Be a part of a team of museum village gardeners * assist in the research, planning, planting, and maintenance of the heritage gardens

You will have the opportunity to Plant the garden* maintain it and harvest some ogranically grown food that is shared

Provide excellent customer service to all Whitby Courthouse Theatre patrons in roles such as ushering, concessions sales, ticket scanners, etc.

Instruct clients on life skills * sew, cook, shop, budget * safety skills * music, art * computers * mentor social awareness skills * develop trust * accompany into community to engage in social activities

Assist at food bank * sort food donations and pack food bags for clients * gather and pack frozen meat, produce and dairy bags for clients.

 Once a month, they create a confidential and welcoming virtual space, where people living with Parkinson’s and/or their care partners can share their experiences and develop supportive relationships in a group setting *  3 – 5 hours per month *  One support group meeting per month (1-1.5 hours per month), plus 3-5 hours monthly for administrative and organizational tasks * Stability is essential for Support Groups so a commitment of at least one year is appreciated *

Attend assigned charity bingo sessions on our behalf * 2 hour bingo sessions that work with your schedule * duties involved include light cleaning and providing customer service

BGC Durham is currently seeking volunteers to assist with our highly-anticipated Halloween Party and Haunted Walk. Volunteers will assist with set-up and general help through out the event, or join our performers for the haunted walk. 

Volunteers must meet the following requirements:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Be working towards completion of high school community service hours
• Provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Check if over 18
• Must be willing to be in costume and perform. A love of Halloween is required!
• Preference will be given to students with a performing arts background
