The Board is responsible for the governance and overall performance of the organization. The responsibilites of the Board shall include:
-comply with provisions of applicabile legislation, regulaions, and common law
-appoint and supervise the Executive Director and delegate responsiblity and appropriate authority to carry out the responsibilities while ensuring accountability to the board
-support, direct, evaluate and if necessary terminate the Executive Director
-assume responsibility for succession planning for the Executive Director and the Board
-ensure auditors are appointed annually by the members
-examine and consider the report of the Auditors and the financial statements of the organization
-establish and review the mission statement and the strategic plan
-monitor risk, ensure implementation of systems to mitigate risk
-ensure mechanisms are in place to provide high quality care to people with intellectual disabilites served by the organization

Tags has been helping rehome animals for over 30 years. TAGS Mission is to provide rehoming and medical care to displaced companion animals and to support the community in the areas of humane education, behavior counselling, the promotion of responsible pet ownership and meeting the needs of animals.

Responsibility:

Coordinate the foster recruitment process from end to end

Conduct the final foster interview and home visit (virtual or in-person)

Make the decision on whether to accept the applicant into the TAGS foster program

Onboard the new foster
- Manage andmaintain the foster tracker in Google Docs
- Facilitate Foster Orientations for new fosters. This is an interactive session that can be held in-person at TAGs or virtually. Fosters are required to attend orientation - it’s not optional.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
