Duties

The Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP) Team is hosting a community cleanup event in West Lynde, Whitby to keep our local park clean and beautiful. As a Park Cleanup Volunteer, you will be assisting with litter-picking at Jeffery Street Park from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Supplies are provided.

All Park Cleanup Volunteers must:

  • Register and review the safety rules in the Liability Waiver before the cleanup event: https://www.cloca.com/event-details/jeffery-street-park-cleanup 
  • Wear suitable clothing, like light-coloured clothing that covers arms and legs, suitable protective closed-toe footwear, work gloves, baseball cap or wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses, if necessary.
  • Stay alert and stay clear of hazards.
  • Avoid touching or picking up any hazardous items, dead animal carcasses, any sharps or biohazardous waste, or anything that cannot be safely identified and report these to the authorized group leader.
