Duties

The Virtual Dementia Tour Guide works in collaboration with the Public Education Team to deliver simulated experiences for clients and the general public on what it may feel like to live with dementia.

Duties include;

Set up of experience room, welcome registrants, ensure consent forms are completed, provide equipmentobserve in experience room.

Report volunteer hours, follow incident report protocol when needed, repect and adhere to the policies and procedures/privacy and confidentiality of the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.

Time commitment is 3-4 hours per shift.

Must possess or obtain a current Vulnerable Sector Check.

Must experince the tour as a particiapant before volunteering.

Benefits Volunteers gain a deeper insight into what it might be like to live with dementia and will be able to support participants in their learning as well.
Clients Anyone who wants to learn what it might be like to live with dementia and how to support people living with dementia.
