Looking for volunteers to assist with the workshops and edible garden installations at schools

Skills/Experience Communication & Interpersonal Skills - assist in educational workshops, mentor program ; Dependability & Trustworthiness - garden teams and builds are on a tight schedule. We need to be able to depend on you ; Friendly & Outgoing - able to interact and communicate with students of all ages ; Leadership - if you join the mentor program leadership skills are an asset. ; Mentoring & Training - All of the gardens we install we support through the mentor program. You will be trained on the different aspects of food gardens ; Positive / Cheerful Demeanor - Growing food is fun.... we need to show that in everything we do ; Public Speaking - if assisting with the workshops you must be able to speak in front of a class ; Working with Children - students of all ages
Commitment Length Medium Term (4 months to 1 year) - we are busy April - end of October ; We install gardens and do workshops April - June and September - October 
We support the gardens and the teams throughout the summer
Interaction Level Small Group - eco clubs at the schools ; Large Group - whole classes of up to 30 students 3-4 times per day
Minimum Hours 4 / Week
Dates and Times Tuesday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening 
Wednesday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening 
Thursday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening 
Friday: Morning, Afternoon, Evening 
The workshops and garden installations are generally done tuesday - Friday 
The Mentoring and support of the gardens is flexible and can be done weekends and evenings
Seasons Spring ; Summer ; Fall
Accessibility Fully Accessible ; Designated parking at entrance ; Wheelchair accessible automatic main entrance ; Easy access to elevator ; Barrier-free washroom including door and stall
Location multiple locations throughout Durham Region
Number of Positions Ajax ; Brock ; Brooklin ; Cannington ; Clarington ; Courtice ; Durham Region ; Oshawa ; Pickering ; Port Perry ; Whitby

Transportation Near public transit ; Car required - we are all over Durham Region so transportation is beneficial
