Duties
  • Event Planning Support: Assist in brainstorming, planning, and coordinating special events, including holiday drives, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach programs.
  • Logistics & Coordination: Help with event setup and takedown, ensuring that all materials, supplies, and resources are prepared in advance for smooth event execution.
  • Donations Management: Assist with sorting, organizing, and packaging items for holiday drives, ensuring donations are handled with care and distributed efficiently to the appropriate recipients.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Support the recruitment and organization of volunteers for events, including providing direction and assistance on event days.
  • Outreach & Promotion: Help promote events by creating and distributing promotional materials (flyers, social media posts, etc.) to raise awareness and encourage participation.
  • Event Day Support: Provide on-site assistance during events, greeting guests, managing registration tables, assisting with food or item distribution, and ensuring a positive experience for all attendees.

This event is the Downtown Whitby Business Improvement Area (DWBIA), in collaboration with Mayor Elizabeth Roy, is launching the Home Sweet Home Helps the Homeless Initiative. This is a community-driven campaign designed to support people experiencing homelessness in Whitby. If interested in volunteering, please send your resume to jessica.p@cfoc.ca
