| Benefits | Gain hands-on community experience while developing communication, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills. Volunteers will receive training and guidance, meet new people, build connections in the community and have opportunities to take on greater responsibilities. Eligible high school students may also earn Ontario Community Involvement Hours. |

| Number of Positions | Durham Region ; Ajax ; Bowmanville ; Courtice ; Oshawa ; Pickering ; Port Perry ; Scugog ; Whitby ; Uxbridge (Township of) ; Clarington 50 individual(s) needed in total. We are building a year-round volunteer pool and welcome volunteers from across Durham Region. Most of our activities are based in Whitby and nearby communities, but volunteers from all parts of Durham Region are encouraged to apply. |

HFBC provides orientation, role-specific training and hands-on guidance. Volunteers may also participate in ongoing training and skill-development opportunities. | Additional Requirements | No police check is required for general community and event volunteer roles. Additional screening, references, or a police record / vulnerable sector check may be required for certain roles involving children, seniors or other vulnerable individuals.
